last night I saw a film that takes place first in Stockholm and then in Finland. I’ve a soft spot for Finland, maybe you’ve seen me write here about the forests and silence…
In the film, Iris, brushes here teeth in the early morning outside on the porch, while watching the sun rise. Heaven. There’s something sweet about being able to meet nature first thing in the morning.
I love the ‘lightness of being’ that I find in Scandinavia; the light colours, the fashion, and fine minimalistic way of existing.
I’m not a coffee drinker, not really. But… one afternoon this past winter I ducked into a café here in nyc to get out of a snow storm and to warm up. There, it was crowded with a line of folks waiting to order a warm beverage. I had time to take in the menu, and found that it was an extensive menu of coffee only. I don’t know my way around coffee. Tea environs are more where I spend my time. Still, I wasn’t going out again in that snow and cold. Coffee would have to do. I asked a few questions, and managed to order some sweet deal with steamed milk and a wee bit of coffee. Some latte concoction. Um, delicious. I’ve not one thing against coffee, it’s just that it makes me nervous, so tea is easier on my body.
I thought, sometimes, for this delicious elixir, it could be worth it to duck in out of the cold and enjoy a steamy cuppa joe!
Spring now… the sun and warmth plays hide and seek. We must wait… for a full Spring which will bend into summer.
The image above got me to thinking of all this… funny, the power of images.
It’s Monday. in spite of it, or because of it… I hope you are well.
